Is sex usually enjoyable for women during pregnancy?

My wife is "uncomfortable" during sex. I cannot even touch her intimately without her freaking out. I can understand that she doesn't like it, but is it common for women to despise it this much or is her case more rare than most? Hearing from friends and family, I was under the impression that the majority of females enjoy sex more when they are pregnant...any thoughts?
